Here are the steps to create a new category and apply it to a product in Moon POS.

1. Open the Moon POS application on your device or tap on this link.
2. You can access the Categories option from the Settings icon.
3. Select Categories and click on All Categories, and then click the ‘+’ icon to add a new category.
4. Enter the Category Name and select a Parent Category, or choose No Parent Category if it's a main category.
5. Click Save to apply the changes.
6. Now, from the main menu, go to Items ➜ Products.
7. Click the ‘+’ icon at the bottom to create a new product.
8. Enter the Product Name, and under Category, select the one you created in step 4.
9. Finally, click Save to complete the process.

Note: If you add a product directly from Items ➜ Products and create a new category during the process, it will be assigned to the default parent category “Others”.

To change this, go to Settings ➜ Categories ➜ Products, click the Edit icon next to the category, and set the Parent Category to No Parent Category.
